Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we will not be able to have the
Ray Tanner Home Run races in person this year.
We are excited to have a VIRTUAL EVENT! This year's virtual event will be from October 1st-October 17th.
You can run your race anywhere during that time frame.
There will be t-shirts for all runners, as well as awards.
You can pick up your shirt at Strictly Running between Sept. 18th and 28th.
If you need your shirt mailed, email RTFoundation05@outlook.com
We encourage you to take pictures of your experience and tag the Ray Tanner Foundation on social media at @raytannergives.
Also, we encourage you to submit your times for awards,

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Ray Tanner Home Run!!
We had another successful race on a beautiful Carolina morning!! We look forward to donating the proceeds from the race to children in need in our community and doing our part to make sure all children in the Columbia area have what they need to be healthy and happy! |
The Ray Tanner Home Run
The Ray Tanner Home Run, established in 2006, is a unique event presented by Strictly Running. The Home Run features a 12K Run, a 5K Run/Walk,
a 1-Mile Run and a Kids’ Fun Run. The 12K event is certified by USA Track & Field and presented in conjunction with the Columbia Running Club.
“When we started the Ray Tanner Home Run in 2006, we had about 200 runners who joined us at the old Sarge Frye field (on USC’s campus),” said Karen Tanner, co-founder of The Ray Tanner Foundation. “Since then, we have seen our numbers increase significantly and are expecting approximately 1,800 runners and walkers this year.”
Proceeds from the Home Run have been contributed to Families Helping Families; the Family Shelter; Oliver Gospel Mission, and the Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter, among others. “Our foundation’s mission is focused on improving the quality of life for those in this community who are medically or economically challenged,” Tanner said.

Ray and Karen Tanner both agree that what excites them the most is "being able to give back. One of the greatest feelings in the world is to be a part of a group of people who care enough to give back to others.”
